my RJ question: Think of a scenario and elaborate on how an educated person might respond differently.
there's 2 ways of interpreting this statement. one is refering to the naturalist in the problem statement. as for me, read my version! hee! =)...LIZARDS! does it scare you? it does scare me. i touched a lizard before unknowingly. it sure freaked me out of my wits! and you know where i encoutered that lizard? at the playground! i may be an educated person in the sense that i am book smart. i know that lizards eat up the houseflies and mosquitoes and it's good for us in a sense. like the saying goes, 'they breed you bleed'. hence, lizards are doing us a favour in the sense that it helps us to kill the mosquitoes, by making them its prey. however, why is it that some of us still freak out when we see lizards crawling around? and why do we even kill it? yes, i am educated (book smart), but yet i kill lizards. i can understand that we should not kill lizards cos they dont harm us, but 'help' us instead. but when i see a lizard, my mentality is totally DIFFERENT!- LIZARDS ARE MEANT TO BE KILLED! that's what's going through my brain. that's one way in which i will react differently despite being educated. and the only thing i can apply from my education is- cold blooded animals cant withstand heat on their body. yes, i kill the lizard by pouring hot water on it! very cruel right? in this case the lizard doesnt harm me. and killing the lizard is NOT a defensive move of mine. i am so much bigger than the lizard, but yet i am afraid of it and get tensed up when i see it around in my house! common sense tells me that the lizard could have probably crawled in through the open windows. hence, if you visit my house, you will realise that my windows are normally tightly shut except for the ones in the living room and balcony. even so, the windows are left a jar and not completely wide opened. though i may be educated about how lizards play a part as a household 'pet', but that doesnt mean that i have to let it breed in my house. therefore, i see the need to kill it since it gets on my nerves. an educated person like me, who knows the benefits of a lizard, will respond differently in a real life situation. i wont be as calm as the naturalist. who knows? the naturalist may know the best way of dealing with the Grizzly bear, but yet at that moment, he may be so scared that his first instinct is to run away, instead of thinking carefully of what he had learnt and applying it. to conclude, an educated person may not always use his knowledge when handling a situation. sometimes, our natural instinct may get in the way as we want to react fast, and hence we will deal with the situation differently.

REALLY?
NOBODY'S HOME
What's wrong, what's wrong now?
Too many, too many problems.
Don't know where she belongs,
where she belongs.
She wants to go home,
but nobody's home.
It's where she lies,
broken inside.
With no place to go,
no place to go to dry her eyes.
Broken inside.
Her feelings she hides.
Her dreams she can't find.
She's losing her mind.
She's fallen behind.
She can't find her place.
She's losing her faith.
She's fallen from grace.
She's all over the place.
